15th August: Duke's Pokémon Mid Year Celebration
LIMITED FORMAT... WITH A TWIST!
1. Deck Construction & Format
All players must bring a constructed deck size of 40 cards.
The Mega Evolution Rule: Only cards found in the latest Mega Evolution sets are permitted! Standard Build & Battle rules apply.
2. The "Prize Pack" Mechanic
This event features a unique Prize Pack mechanic that alters your deck mid-game.
Setup: During setup, place an unopened Prize Pack (given to each player at the beginning of each round) directly into your Prize Card zone alongside your standard Prize Cards (for a total of 4 Prizes depending on your base rule).
Taking Prizes: The Prize Pack MUST be the first prize you take when knocking out an opponent’s Pokémon.
When a Prize Pack is claimed, the player immediately opens it.
All cards from that pack are immediately shuffled into the player's active deck. This means you might increase the copies of a card in your deck by pulling it from Prize Packs. This is legal for this event, it's just fun!
These cards are now a permanent attachment to your deck for the remainder of that game and the rest of the tournament.
Your deck size will permanently increase as the tournament progresses!
3. Tournament Structure & Prizing
Rounds: 5 Rounds of Swiss pairings.
Pacing: Best-of-1 matches (recommended 30-minute timers due to mid-game shuffling).
Participation Pool: Every player receives 5 Prize Packs total over the course of the event.
Grand Prize: The undefeated winner at the end of the 3 rounds wins the Exclusive Champion Playmat.
Doors open from 10am, first round at 10:30am.
All tickets are non-refundable.
